Designing an Integrated Curriculum that Embeds Qur’anic Understanding and Values into the Educational Process
This project presents a model for designing an integrated curriculum that serves as one of the applications of the Hayah Tayyibah Framework. It aims to integrate Qur’anic understanding, values, language, and life experience into the educational process, helping learners build a conscious relationship with revelation, with themselves, and with the world around them.
The curriculum is grounded in an educational vision that views the Holy Qur’an not as a separate subject, but as a reference point for building meaning and shaping awareness and behavior. It also views the Arabic language and Islamic education as tools for living and understanding, not merely for rote memorization.
Project Objectives
Many educational institutions face the challenge of transforming values and Qur’anic understanding into living educational experiences whose impact students can feel in their thinking and daily behavior, especially in light of the traditional separation between subjects and the dominance of abstract knowledge-based learning.
This project responds to the need for a curriculum that:
