Girls’ Care Home – Agouza
Rapid Intervention Guide
Project Context
This project was developed as part of an initiative by Misr El Kheir Foundation to support girls living in care homes, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity. The initiative aimed to design and implement a rapid educational and rehabilitation intervention that addresses the psychological and educational needs of girls living in the Agouza Girls’ Care Home.
The program targeted girls aged 13 to 17 within a context marked by social and psychological challenges that required a flexible and responsive educational approach.
Educational Approach
The project is based on an approach that integrates psychosocial support with educational learning through interactive practices that help rebuild the girls’ relationship with themselves and with learning.
The approach focuses on:
- Learning through artistic expression and hands-on experiences
- Creating a safe space for expression
- Developing self-awareness and rebuilding self-image

- Provide a safe environment for expressing emotions and personal challenges
- Rebuild motivation toward learning
- Identify and nurture individual talents

- Interactive sessions based on art and self-expression
- Learning through storytelling and personal narratives
- Inquiry-based learning approaches
- The integration of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) practices
The program was carefully adapted to the nature of the target group, avoiding heavy reliance on reading and writing due to varying literacy levels among participants.

- Storytelling and self-narrative sessions
- Reflection and self-awareness activities
- Structured learning circles (opening – activities – closure)

Girls living in care homes aged 13–17 at the Agouza Girls’ Care Home, in addition to the facilitators responsible for implementing the program.
Project Value
The project provides:
- A rapid intervention model suitable for sensitive and high-need contexts
- An integrated experience that combines psychosocial and educational support
- Opportunities to rebuild learners’ relationships with themselves and with learning
- A flexible model that can be replicated and expanded across other care homes
The EducQuest Philosophy
This project reflects the philosophy of EducQuest that effective learning begins with understanding the learner’s human and psychological context. Educational experiences are designed to respond to real needs while activating tools of expression and interaction to create meaningful learning experiences that support genuine and sustainable transformation.
