Wijdan Guide for Educators
Designing an Educational Series to Support Values Development in Early Childhood
This project presents a model for designing a comprehensive educational series for educators and parents, aimed at supporting values development in early childhood through real-life situations familiar to children and interactive activities that encourage learning within everyday contexts.
The project was developed in collaboration with the Wijdan Cultural Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, to serve as an educational resource that supports families and educators in nurturing children’s values in a thoughtful and balanced way.
Project Context
Many families and educational institutions face challenges in translating values into daily practices that children can understand and experience, especially during the early years when emotional and behavioral foundations are formed.
This project was developed in response to the need for educational materials that:
- Speak to children through their language and everyday experiences
- Support educators and parents in their educational roles
- Connect values to real-life situations instead of presenting them through direct instruction or moralizing approaches
Project Approach
This educational solution is based on the belief that:
- Values are developed through practice and lived experiences, not through memorization or lecturing
- Everyday moments hold powerful educational opportunities
- The educator’s role is to guide and build meaning rather than control or dictate
The guide provides a practical framework that helps educators and parents observe daily situations and transform them into opportunities for reinforcing values and developing children’s emotional awareness.
